Many parents ask questions like, "Is it OK for preschool children to do that much screen time?"
"Can my child stay focused when doing online?" These are all good questions. However, if you do allow your child watch TV or play on any device, then online class may not be a bad thing. We interact with your child in two-way communication and keep it short and fun to keep your child engaged.
Focus, routine, and lively sections are the proven key to success. Children's attention spans are very short. Experienced teachers know that we have to change activities every 10 minutes to catch the child's attention. For this reason, our online preschool class sessions are 20-30 minutes long, two times a day, and 5 days a week. We run our sessions like our circle time, and change activities every 5-10 minutes to draw the child's interest.
Challenge School rolled out our Bilingual virtual class since March 2020 during shelter-in-place. Although it was challenging, our teachers were able to integrate our current lesson plans to the online preschool program almost instantly. Over the 4 months of teaching online, our teachers have picked up many tips and skills for how to engage children and make the class more effective. During this challenging COVID time, At-home learning is one of the few ways to get your child into a school setting while maintaining a safe environment.
