Our Leadership

Mei is the founder of Challenge School and has 10 years of teaching and educational administrative experience. Before starting the school, she was a pharmacist who practiced in China and later became an architect in the United States. Mei received her BA in Interior Architecture from Academy of Art University and her BS in Medicine from Sichuan University.

Grace joined Challenge School in 2009 and became the Executive Director. Prior to this role, she had 10 years of experience in engineering and product management. Grace holds an MS in Engineering, an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas, and an Early Childhood Program Director permit from the California Department of Education.

Teacher Kelly joined Challenge School in 2008 and has since served as our principal at Belmont Chinese School. With over twenty years of experience teaching Chinese, Teacher Kelly is beloved and respected within the community.

Jenny is the preschool director for our Belmont preschool campus. She has over fifteen years of experience as an early childhood teacher, head teacher, and curriculum designer. 

Kim is our Fremont preschool director. She has been teaching at Challenge School since 2013 and was our San Mateo preschool's head teacher prior to becoming our Fremont preschool director.

Vivian oversees program management, which encompasses our summer program, enrichment programs, and school marketing. She has been teaching music and Mandarin at Challenge School since 2014 and was promoted to Program Management Director in 2020.

 Nicole is the preschool Administrative Director for our San Mateo preschool campus. She has over thirteen years of experience as an early childhood teacher and lead teacher.  

Hanan possesses twenty years of experience in early childhood education, serving as a lead teacher, curriculum specialist and teacher mentor.

Catherine is the preschool director for our Foster City Toddler/Preschool campus. She has ten years of preschool teaching experience in Singapore and Shanghai. She is familiar with organizing open-ended teaching activities.
