During this difficult time, it is very stressful and challenging for both families and children.  We need to stay strong and stay resilient to move forward. Challenge School is doing our best to follow or refer to guidelines from CDC, San Mateo County Health Department, and Community Care Licensing.

We encourage all students and household member who is qualified for vaccination to get vaccinated.  All of our staff are mostly or fully vaccinated. 

For families who are choosing to come onsite, here is our infectious illness Policy:

Check-in/out Procedure:

• Children are asked to wash hands OR use hand sanitizer before coming inside the school
• Covid screening test may be required after holiday 

Mask Wearing Requirement:

• Mask is optional for both indoors and outdoors Starting March 1st 2023

Healthcheck Requirement and Illness Policy:

• Healthcheck is required when the staff/children feel sick or showing symptoms
• Infectious symptoms include: Fever of 100.4 F or more, cough, runny nose, congestion, sore throat, shortness of breath, new loss of taste and smell, etc
• A child must be symptom-free, without the aid of symptom-reducing medications such as Tylenol, for a 48 hours prior to returning school. 

Possible Infectious Illness including COVID Exposures:

• If staff/children or their direct household member has a confirmed case or infectious disease exposure:  Staff/children need to provide 5 days daily negative tests after last exposure day. And wear well-fitted mask 5 days to attend school
• Classrooms will remain open and no modified outdoor schedule
• However, any outbreak of COVID may lead to a closure of the classroom per Health Department guidance

Risk of Infectious Illness including COVID:

Please understand that sending your child to a group setting may have infectious disease including COVID-19 exposure.  Teachers and the school will follow CDC, San Mateo County Health, and Community Care Licensing guidelines vigorously and work extra hard to clean and disinfect any common areas and shared toys/supplies/furniture.
