Through poems, songs, games, art, and daily conversations, children will acquire language skills during our morning Mandarin Immersion program. Our Chinese teachers are primarily native speakers with qualified Early Childhood Education training. Challenge School has published six Chinese textbooks specifically designed for our 3- to 6-year-old classes.
The Creative Curriculum® helps preschool educators develop high-quality programs that cater to the unique needs of the children and families they serve. This curriculum emphasizes that young children learn best through hands-on experiences. Classrooms using the Creative Curriculum are organized into various learning centers, including: Block Center, Dramatic Play, Art, Literacy, Discovery, Sensory, and Music/Movement.
According to the NAEYC, social curriculum should be the primary curriculum in early childhood education. Each month, our teachers discuss a social/emotional goal and give examples of character traits through puppet shows and stories. At the end of the month, our teachers pick a child who demonstrated each character trait to be the star of the month.
Our preschool program provides a bilingual Kindermusik curriculum in the morning/afternoon. In our child care curriculum, our music teacher Ms. Wang, guides the class towards a learning objective with the children as active participants in the learning process.
Our preschool teaches Mandarin immersion in the morning and English curriculum in the afternoon. We provide opportunities for children to have fun with language and to develop verbal skills by introducing various activities. We use Zoo-phonics as our phonics foundation. Zoo-phonics combines sound and kinesthetic movement so that children can remember the sounds of the alphabet easily.
At Challenge School, in addition to Chinese, English, and music, we emphasize the importance of play! A focus on play fosters creativity and ensures that children are excited to come to school. Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life. We strive to create a supportive learning community that nurtures growth, creativity, and innovation.
Project-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the most inspiring, engaging, and effective instructional approaches for teaching our youngest learners. In PBL, children take an active role in their education, developing essential knowledge and skills that promote independence and collaboration. They learn and discover important lessons about themselves and the world.
At Challenge School, we cultivate well-rounded citizens who have a sense of responsibility in their communities. Children are given the opportunity to vote or express their preferences for various roles they would like to try, such as Line Leader or Librarian.
Every Christmas, our preschoolers and school-age students perform at Hillsdale Shopping Mall. Their performances attract not only their families but also hundreds of mall shoppers who come to enjoy the show.
At Challenge School, we are excited to celebrate Chinese New Year. Each campus will feature a performance by the children, followed by a lion dance and a parade. Everyone wears their best Chinese costumes.
Our graduation class performance is always the highlight of the school year. After enjoying the memorable performances, parents and teachers gave our new grads their best wishes as they transition to kindergarten!
Our Christmas performance is the highlight of the year. The kids looked so cute in their costumes as they sang and danced on stage.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a wonderful day to enjoy mooncakes and celebrate. Each campus invites parents to a performance, followed by a fun project like making lanterns, and then everyone enjoys mooncakes.

Our first year of Family Day was a great success! Families participated in games with our children to win prizes, and everyone had so much fun.
Children enjoy working on projects with their families. We offer family projects on many occasions, such as the Lantern Project during the Moon Festival and the Pumpkin Project for Thanksgiving.
Every year, we organize a field trip to farms for families and teachers. Getting close to nature helps kids develop a love for the outdoors and farm life as we explore the relationships between animals, gardens, crops, and the surrounding woods
The children are so excited during our Halloween Parade as teachers decorate the playground with haunted houses and stations. We have so much fun with the costume fashion show!
Our Roadmap portal, a parent-only access website, was developed during pandemic when many school closed. With our teachers working from home full-time or part-time, we recognized the growing need for digital resources. The portal creatively displays learning materials for families, providing supplemental resources for parents to understand what their children are learning in class and serving as a tool for effective communication with their children.
